Born in Seoul (South Korea) Son Jihye studied at the University of Seoul and she graduated in Italy at the Conservatory of Milan with Rita Orlandi Malaspina. She attended also masters of Renata Scotto at Accademia Santa Cecilia of Rome.
She won several international competitions in Korea (2002) and Europe in 2004: "Viņas" of Barcelona (2nd Prize), "Assami" of Milan (1st Prize), "Valsesia" of Varallo Sesia (2nd Prize), "Bilbao" (3rd Prize).
Ms. Son debuted in 2005 as Musetta at Festival della lirica Valduggese followed by Mozart's Il re pastore in Rome and Mondragone conducted by Marcello Panni; as Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro in Orvieto and at National Opera in Korea; The Fairy Queen in AsLiCo network; Adina in L'elisir d'amore in Korea and Carolina in Cimarosa's Il matrimonio segreto conducted by Francesco Vizioli. She has also an intense concertistic activity in Korea and Italy (Rome, Milan, Pescara).
In 2009 she has been the protagonist of Lucia di Lammermoor in the production of the Budapest Festival in Nowy Sacz (Polond) e in Budapest. She recently had a great success in Korea for L'elisir d'amore.
She had recently sung in Korea for L'elisir d'amore and in Sassari and Cosenza for Lucia di Lammermoor (title-role); she also participated in the most important female role of the Henze's opera Gogo no eiko, for the opening of the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, making a great personal success.
In December of 2010, she performed Gilda (Rigoletto) in Sassari.
