One of the most promising young singers essaying the operatic repertory, Elena Belfiore regularly appears at national and international leading concert halls and opera houses with a repertory that ranges from the baroque to the contemporarey music. Recent appereances include La Cenerentola (Dresden, St. Gallen, Catania), Il barbiere di Siviglia (Berlin, Hamburg, Beijing, Buenos Aires, Adelaide, Solothurn, Genoa, Bologna, Cagliari, Catania), Falstaff (Bruxelles), La scala di seta (Berlin), Le nozze di Figaro(Zürich, Torino, La Coruña, Solothurn), Les contes d'Hoffmann (Tel Aviv), L'equivoco stravagante(Garsington), Don Giovanni (Genova, Catania), Anna Bolena (Verona, Dallas) and La clemenza di Tito(Vichy, Massy).
She worked with such important conductors as Frédéric Chaslin, Myung-Whun Chung, Alan Curtis, Gabriele Ferro, Asher Fisch, Riccardo Frizza, Ivan Fischer, Daniele Gatti, Lü Jia, Mikhail Jurowski, Vladimir Jurowski, Jiri Kout, Lorin Maazel, Kazushi Ono, Daniel Oren, Emmanuel Plasson, Michelle Plasson, Stefano Ranzani, Julian Reynolds, Corrado Rovaris, Carlo Rizzi, Julien Salemkour, Tom Woods and Alberto Zedda.
Season 2010/11 started with a performance of Lodoiska with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester in Ingolstadt subject to a CD recording, followed by her double most awaited American debut with Anna Bolena at the Dallas Opera and Roméo et Juliette (Stephano) at the Opera Company of Philadelphia. Her future plans include Maria Stuarda (Elisabetta) at the Teatro Megaron in Athens, Evgenij Onegin (Olga) at the Teatro del Sodre in Montevideo,Romeo et Juliette(Stefano) at the Arena of Verona, Barbiere di SivigliaandIl viaggio a Reimsat the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, concerts with Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (Rossini Stabat Mater) and with the ORT Orchestra (Mahler Das Lied von der Erde).
She opened the 2009/10 season performing Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina) at the Staatsoper in Berlin and making her successful role debut as Elisabetta in Maria Stuarda at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste. She was also heard in concerts with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in
Brisbane, with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra in Christchurch (Ravel's Shéhérazade), with the Orchestra of Fondazione Toscanini in Parma and Piacenza and with the Danish National Chamber Orchestra in Kopenhagen (Les Nuits d'Eté). She also performed Roméo et Juliette (Stephano) at the Teatro Verdi di Trieste and at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona and Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina) under the baton of Daniel Oren at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno.
The 2008/09 has brought her to perform Il barbiere di Siviglia (Rosina) at the Staatsoper unter den Linden in Berlin and at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, Evgenij Onegin (Olga) at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, Mozart'sRequiemin Busseto with the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Parma, Ariadne auf Naxos and Mozart's Requiem al Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova and Mitridate Re di Ponto (Farnace) at the Festival Mozart in La Coruña. Recent seasons has seen her performing Giacomo Manzoni's La legge at the Biennale di Venezia, Le nozze di Figaro (Cherubino) at the Festival Mozart de La Coruña and Haydn's Die Shoepfung (Eva) under Lorin Maazel's baton in Rome. She also made her outstanding debut at the South Australian Opera House of Adelaide as Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia.
Active also on the concert side, she made her debut at the Teatro Carlo Felice di Genova in Mozart'sRequiem, a work she successfully revisited at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome under the baton of Myung Whun Chung and at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna under the baton of Paolo Olmi. She sang the Petite Messe Solennelle at the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari and took part in recitals in Pesaro and Bologna in occasion of the bicentennial of Giacomo Leopardi's death, and in concerts at the Accademia Chigiana di Siena with works by Rossini.
Her repertory also includes several national and international premieres of contemporary operas such as Isabella by Azio Corghi (Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro) Messer Lievesogno e la porta chiusa by Carlo Galante (Verona and Trento), Il fantasma di Canterville by Claudio Scannavini (Modena), Lavinia fuggita by Matteo D'Amico (Modena).
Born in Genoa, Elena Belfiore graduated at the "Niccolò Paganini" Conservatory of her city under the guidance of Gabriella Ravazzi.
During the last season he debuted the roles of Adalgisa/ Norma at Cagliari's Teatro Lirico , Romeo / I Capuleti ei Montecchi at the Teatro Bellini of Catania.
In May 2015 she will be in Munich for a performance of Mozart's La Finta semplice with the Munchner Rundfunkorchester subject to a CD recording.
