The brasilian bass Diogenes Randes is one of the most promising young singers in his fach.
Since 2007 he has appeared annually at the Wagner Festival in Bayreuth performing various roles from Hans Foltz in " Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg" and Titurel in "Parsifal" to a very succesful performance of Fafner in "Das Rheingold" and "Siegfried" in 2010 and Daland in "Der Fliegende Holländer".
Furthermore, he expanded his experience in Wagnerian repertoire singing Daland, Nachtwächter (" Die Meistersinger") and Landgraf (" Tannhäuser") under the direction of Stefan Soltesz at the Aalto Theater in Essen, as well as Fafner und Fasolt, König Heinrich (" Lohengrin") at the Staatsoper Hamburg under the direction of Simone Young, with whom he also performed Daland at the Edinburgh Festival.
He worked with such conductors as: Claudio Abbado ( in his last production of "Fidelio"), Riccardo Chailly, Christian Thielemann, Daniele Gatti ( with whom he made his La Scala debut in "Don Carlo"), Sebastian Weigle, Carlo Rizzi, Carlo Montanaro and others.
His broad repertoire includes numerous major Verdian roles ( Inquisitor and Filipo in "Don Carlo", Fiesco in "Simone Boccanegra", Padre Guardiano "Forza del destino", Banco in "Macbeth" and others) as well as parts in bel canto operas, such as Oroveso in "Norma" and Raimondo in "Lucia di Lammermore" and oratorio repertoire.
His future Engagements include perfomances at the Staatsoper München, Paris, Barcelona and Toulouse.
